Tabor, 66, of Manheim passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at Lancaster General Hospital. Fondly known as “Dick”, he was the devoted husband of Mary Grace “Pinky” Cain Tabor. Together they shared 43 years of marriage. A native of Mildred, Pa., Dick was born April 10, 1943 son of the late Joseph S. and Anna Stritt Tabor. He graduated from Turnpike High School in 1961. In 1965 he moved to Lancaster County and began a lifetime career in the insurance industry. He retired from State Auto Insurance Company in June 2008 as Regional Claims Manager. A Corvette enthusiast, he was a member of the Lancaster County Corvette Club. Dick enjoyed special times with his family, golf, and working in the yard. He is survived by his wife Pinky, two sons; Scott (Charity) Tabor of Pottstown; Jason of Lancaster; and a daughter Amy (John) Good of Reading; two grandchildren Declan and Finlay; and a brother Joseph (Tina) of Lopez and two nephews and a niece. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Basil’s Catholic Church, Dushore, on Friday, October 16, 2009 at 11:00 AM. There will be no visitation prior to the Mass. Dick’s family will receive friends immediately following the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St Basil’s Catholic Church, PO Box 307, Dushore, PA 18614.
