Cruz, formerly Marta Johnson, age 67, of Wyalusing, PA passed away Monday morning September 22, 2008, at the Robert Packer Hospital, surrounded by her family. Marta was born January 30, 1941 in San Juan, Puerto Rico, a daughter of Josefina Rodriguez Bravo and the late Isaac Cruz. Marta’s family moved to Brooklyn, NY in 1955. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School, Brooklyn, NY in 1958. After high school she married Roger Johnson of Brooklyn, NY, on October 14, 1961. They traveled with the military for many years, settling in Wyalusing in 1974. She held various jobs in the area, working for Bendix Co, and most recently BAE Systems Co. out of Johnson City. She was a member of St. Mary’s of the Assumption Catholic Church, Wyalusing, PA. She enjoyed watching NASCAR, NFL football, Spanish soap opera’s and especially Penn State football. She loved her work, her 2 cats, and spending time with her family and friends. Cruz Homestead, FL Sister: Milagros Rivera Rio Piedras, PR Numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Maria Martinez. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Wyalusing, PA with the Rev. Joseph Manarchuk presiding.
