Frances was born on November 7, 1936, in Tunkhannock, PA, a daughter of the late Frank Shaffer and Helen Amy Lee. Frances lived in Tunkhannock and taught physical education and health at the Tunkhannock High School for 37 years before retiring in 1996. After she retired she moved out to her log cabin in West Auburn where she enjoyed her retirement and her many friends.
