Anjeski, age 87 of Dushore, Sullivan County, PA passed away peacefully on August 6, 2005 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Wilkes-Barre, PA. Edward was born December 24, 1917 in Lopez, a son of the late Stanley and Tetka Kwiatkosky Andjeski. Edward attended the Lopez School. Edward enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1940, and served with the 26th Infantry where he earned the rank of Staff Sergeant and participated in the Algerian-French Moroccan Campaign, Tunisian Campaign, Sicilian Campaign, Battle of Normandy, Battle of Northern France and Battle of Germany. He was discharged in 1944 and simultaneously re-enlisted as a 2nd Lt. and participated in the Battles of Rhineland, Ardennes, and Central Europe and was discharged in Oct of 1945. He was wounded in Germany and awarded a Purple Heart , Silver Star and a Bronze Star and Cluster. He married Ruby Viola Dieffenbach of New Albany January 12, 1946. Edward was a farmer his entire life. Edward was a member of the VFW of New Albany. Dieffenbach Dushore, PA Florence Dieffenbach Monroeton, PA 4 Grandchildren: Kenneth Ketchum Wilkes-Barre, PA Brian Anjeski New York Matthew Anjeski New Hampshire Emily Constable Florida six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Edward was predeceased by three brothers: Joseph Andzeski (Ed. Note Sp.3 ways), Charles A. Andjeski and Andrew A. (Bonnie) Andjeski; two sisters: Sophia Bay and Mary Kneller. Funeral Services were held on Wednesday, August 10, 2005 at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA Interment was in the Colley Cemetery, Colley, PA.
