Doris was born in Abington, PA on January 21, 1927 a daughter of the late Robert & Amelia Kilbourn Bellmont. She graduated from high school and received her training as a Licensed Practical Nurse. During WWII she worked as payroll clerk at a defense plant in New Jersey. She married Howard C. Bond on June 12, 1948. Howard predeceased her on July 21, 2006. Doris and Howard lived in Bucks County, where Howard was employed as a steel hauler. Doris worked as an LPN at the Lower Bucks Hospital, the Delaware Valley Hospital and the Pickering Manor Nursing Home in Newtown, PA. They both retired to Beavers Meadows in 1982. Doris was a very active member of the Wyalusing Presbyterian Church where she was an elder and the past president of the Fideles Class. She was a past Matron at Newtown Chapter OES and was very active with Meshoppen Chapter # 70 O.E.S. Surviving: Daughter: Karen Bond Beaver Meadows Sister-in-law: Ruth Bellmont Bradenton, FL And several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at the Wyalusing Presbyterian Church at 1:00 P.M. with the Rev. Barry R. Ballard of the Wyalusing Presbyterian Church, officiating.
