Doris was born in Mildred, PA on January 18, 1925 one of nine children of the late James P. & Florence Sharp Dempsey. She attended Cherry Township High School a member of the class of 1943. She married Norman Kunkle of Wyalusing on February 9, 1948. Doris was a homemaker all her life and a loving spouse, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Doris was an active member of St. Mary’s of the Assumption Catholic Church in Wyalusing, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, August 13, 2009 at St. Mary’s of the Assumption Church, Wyalusing, PA with the Rev. Joseph J. Manarchuck, her pastor, presiding. Interment will be in the Wyalusing Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 1 Grovedale Lane, Wyalusing, PA.
