George was born March 11, 1932 in Rochester, NH son of the late Leonard C. & Lucia Cobb Hardwick. He graduated from the University of Michigan and its Law School. He served during the Korean War as a Lieutenant JG in the US Navy. He married the former Jean Fretz of June 9, 1956. He was currently of counsel with Timoney Knox, Attorneys–at-Law and formerly had his own private practice for many years in Springhouse, PA. He was the solicitor for Ambler and Upper Dublin Zoning Boards and a member of the Montgomery County Estate Planning Council. George was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Chestnut Hill and the Eagles Mere Community Church. Other memberships were: Ambler Rotary (former president-40 year member); PA Bar Association and Montgomery Co. Bar Assoc; Old York Road Country Club; Eagles Mere Country Club; University of Michigan Glee Club; and the Germantown Academy Community Chorus. He was the former president of the Ambler Chamber of Commerce and a co-founder of the Ambler branch of the YMCA. Surviving, his loving spouse of 49 years, Jean; two daughters, Marilyn H. Sokoloski, of Horsham, PA and Kathryn A. Hardwick of Lansdale, PA; three grandchildren, Erica, Amelia and Kyle. A Memorial Service was held on Friday, September 23, 2005 at the Presbyterian Church of Chestnut Hill.
