John was born in Berwick, PA on March 25, 1937 a son of the late John & Marie Petroff Stepanski. He graduated from the Berwick High School and served in the US Navy. He married the former Elizabeth Foulk of Danville, on January 15, 1960. Elizabeth and a son Mark predeceased him on February 15, 2001. John was in sales his entire life. He went to college as an adult graduating from College Misericordia, Dallas, PA with a degree in Business Administration. He sold insurance for a while and then was a co-founder of the Alaska Stove Company of Bloomsburg. He was self-employed with Portasoft Water Treatment, also known as Susquehanna Water Systems, retiring in 2002. He moved to Sullivan Terrace in Dushore in 2007. John enjoyed wood working at his home in Berwick and was also a saxophone and clarinet player for the Polka Hops Band in the Northern Tier of PA. Surviving: Son: Michael (Joyce) Stevens Milan, OH Daughters: Marie Harner Hazleton, PA Margaret (Douglas) Doebler Halifax, PA Brother: James Stepanski Wysox, PA He had twelve grandchildren and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son Mark Stevens on February 15, 2001. Funeral Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
