Emily was born in Lopez, on June 19, 1916 a daughter of the late Joseph & Anna Gaspar Bushofsky. She attended local schools and married Charles K. Goers of Philadelphia on August 5, 1964. They resided in Worcester, PA until moving to Lopez in 2002. Charles predeceased her on December 15, 2006. During WWII, Emily worked for the Standard Pressed Steel Corp. in Philadelphia and retired from the Heintz Division of Kelsey & Hayes Company, an aircraft manufacturer, where she was a parts inspector. Emily was a member of SS Peter & Paul’s Byzantine Catholic Church in Lopez, PA. She was a kind and loving spouse and they celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary in 2006. She was an accomplished gardener and enjoyed her beautiful home and surroundings. She was predeceased by brothers: Michael Bushofsky of Lopez, PA; Anthony Bushofsky of Lopez, PA; Joseph Bushofsky of Dushore, PA; Martin Bushofsky of Johnson City, NY; John Bushofsky of Dushore, PA; and sisters: Mary Lorenz of Telford, PA; Anna Bahr of Lopez, PA; Agnes Mund of Placentia, CA and Veronica White of Buffalo, NY. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2007 at 9:30 A.M. from the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Mildred, PA with the Rev. Bert S. Kozen, pastor, presiding. Interment will be in SS: Peter & Paul’s Cemetery, Lopez, PA. Friends may call on Friday, Oct. 19th, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. There will be a Vigil Service at 5:00 P.M.
