Barnhart, age 96, of Sugar Run, PA passed away on Sunday, July 8, 2007. Anna was born in Elwell, Wilmot Township, Bradford County on April 28, 1911 a daughter of the late Floyd & Agnes Steele Girven. She graduated from the Mansfield State Teacher’s College and taught school in Lovelton, Sugar Run, Wilmot, Moxie and Grant Hill schools for 17 years. She later worked at the Endicott Johnson Shoe Mfg. Co., in Mildred, PA for 16 years before retiring. She married Claude E. (Fred) Barnhart of Sugar Run on May 5, 1938. Fred predeceased her on August 21, 1998. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wilmot. Surviving: Sister and brother-in-law: Lelia & Glenn Custer Tunkhannock, PA Sister-in-law: Harriet Girven Sugar Run, PA Several nieces and nephews, she was predeceased by brothers, Calvin Girven, Layman Girven, Myron Girven, Paul Girven, Rush Girven, and sisters, Aletha Stewart and Marie Santee. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 1 Grovedale Lane, Wyalusing, PA with Lori Robinson officiating. Interment will be in the Wyalusing Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
