Goers, age 88, of Lopez, PA passed away on Friday, December 15, 2006 at his home. Charles was born in Philadelphia, PA on August 14, 1918 a son of the late Charles G. & Margaret Kroeling Goers. He graduated from Olney High School in Philadelphia, PA and Clemson College in SC. He served in the US Army during WWII in Central Europe and also in the Asiatic Pacific Campaigns. He was employed for 30 years as a tool and dye inspector for the Heintz Division of Kelsey & Hayes Company, an aircraft manufacturer, retiring in 1989. He married the former Emily Bushofsky of Lopez, PA on August 5, 1964. They resided in Worcester, PA until moving to Lopez in 2002. Charles was a member of SS Peter & Paul’s Byzantine Catholic Church in Lopez, PA. He was a kind and loving spouse and he and Emily recently celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary. Surviving: Spouse: Emily at home Son and daughter-in-law: Charles J. & Kathy Goers Harrisburg, PA Step-son and spouse: Humphrey and Mary Agnes Lukachik Erie, PA Step-daughter: Roseanne Lukachik Lopez, PA A grandson, Greg Goers and a niece and a nephew. He was predeceased by a grandson, Charles Goers and a sister, Eleanor, and brother, George. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2006 at 10:00 A.M. from the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 A.M. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Mildred, PA with the Rev. Bert S. Kozen, pastor, presiding. Interment will be in SS: Peter & Paul’s Cemetery, Lopez, PA. Friends may call on Monday, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
