OBITUARY
Betty L. Hopkins, age 86, formerly of Mechanicsburg, PA passed away on Friday, December 15, 2006 at the Highlands Care Center in Laporte, PA.
Betty was born in Williamsport, PA on June 26, 1920 the daughter of the late William C. & Rose Goldy Zeigler. She graduated from the Williamsport High School a member of the class of 1938 and graduated from Penn State in 1942. She taught school for several years until her marriage to the Rev. Dr. Martin W. Hopkins of Everett, PA on July 26, 1944.
She accompanied Rev. Hopkins as the perfect clergy spouse throughout his extensive calling in the Central Pennsylvania Conference of the United Methodist Church. They served churches in Everett, Nanticoke, Nescopeck, Shamokin and the Asbury United Methodist Church in York, PA. Martin was instrumental in the founding of the Colonial Park United Methodist Church where he also served as pastor. He was also served as the District Superintendent of the Central PA Conference for six years. Martin predeceased her on July 18, 1997.
She was a member of the Camp Hill United Methodist Church. While attending Penn State Univ. she was very active and was the President of the Women’s Recreation Association , a member of the House of Representatives, active with Mortar Board, Lakonides, Players and the Handbook committee.

A time of remembrance will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, Dec. 18, 2006 at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA
Interment will be in the Wildwood Cemetery, Williamsport, PA.
The family will provide the flowers and ask that memorials be directed in her memory to the Eagles Mere Museum, PO Box 440, Eagles Mere, PA 17731-0440.
