Charlotte Little

Charlotte Little, age 89, of Nordmont, PA passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, October 23, 2007. Charlotte was born in Nordmont on August 7, 1918 a daughter of the late John & Bertha King Houseknecht. She graduated from the Sonestown high school where she was the valedictorian of the class. She married Henry Little of Nordmont on April 12, 1941, they were married 58 years. Henry predeceased her on April 7, 2000. Charlotte and Henry lived in Horsham, PA where Henry worked for the Standard Press Steel Corp. When Henry retired in 1966 they returned to Nordmont, where they farmed, produced honey from their bee hives and also made maple syrup. Charlotte, an avid outdoorswoman graced with a pure pioneer spirit, was an accomplished hunter and fisherman and also enjoyed golfing at the Eagles Mere Country Club. Surviving: Brother: Abner Houseknecht of Millersville, PA. Sister: Kathryn Devereaux Steimling of Nordmont, PA She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers: Giles Houseknecht, Ellis Houseknecht, Theodore Houseknecht, and George Houseknecht. Sisters: Rachel Stackhouse, Ruth Peterman and Esther Leek Kirkbride. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. at the Cherry Grove Chapel, Nordmont, PA with the Rev. Charles H. Harris Sr., pastor of the Valley United Methodist Charge, officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. The family will provide the flowers and ask that memorials be given to Southern Care Hospice, 190 Choate Circle, Suite B, Montoursville, PA 17754. Arrangements are under the direction of the P.
