Harney, age 92, of Albany Township, PA passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2009 at the Memorial Hospital, Towanda, PA with her loving family at her side. Pearl was born in Forks Township, PA on November 25, 1916 a daughter of the late Maurice & Amelia Shrimp Rinebold. She attended local schools and married Merle Hunsinger of Forks Township, who predeceased her after being fatally wounded in a logging accident. She married Paul J. Harney of Albany Township on January 15, 1939, and he predeceased her on Thursday, March 28, 1996 after 57 years of marriage. Pearl was a homemaker and helped on the farm her entire life. She was a member of St. Basil’s Church, Dushore, PA and a member of its Altar and Rosary Society. She enjoyed embroidery, canning, gardening and preparing holiday family dinners. Surviving: sons: Joseph Paul Harney and Richard J. Harney; a daughter, Marie McKernan, all of Dushore, PA, sister, Mrs. Laura White, Hillsgrove; daughters-in-law: Doris Hunsinger, Canton and Gladys Hunsinger, Forks Twp.; 9 grandchildren and several great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sons, Harold Hunsinger and Donald Hunsinger and a granddaughter, Amy Frederick and two sisters: Beatrice Thall and Viola Hunsinger. A Transferal Service will be held on Monday, June 8, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. from the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home and will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 A.M. at St. Basil’s Church, Dushore, PA with the Rev. Joseph R. Hornick, her pastor, presiding. Interment will be in St. Basil’s Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday, June 7th from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. and from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Homer Funeral Home in Dushore, PA. Members of St. Basil / St. Francis Altar and Rosary Society will recite the Rosary at 3:00 P.M. Sunday afternoon at the funeral home.
