Jane was born May 20, 1913, in Bethlehem, PA, a daughter of the late Joseph and Chloey Graham Reynolds. Jane received a bachelor’s degree from Oberlin College, and she was the first woman to receive a Masters Degree in Mathematics from Lehigh University. She met and married William Parsons of Trenton, NJ on May 21, 1938. She celebrated her 96th birthday on May 20, 2009 and the couple celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary the following day. Jane was an elementary teacher in Lewistown, PA, for a number of years. She then went to Edinboro University where she taught in a teaching facility for children as well as teaching math at the university level. She was a long time member of the Wyalusing Presbyterian Church. Jane enjoyed working with her varied art projects, painting and doll making and repairing being two of her favorites. Jane was an avid outdoors person who loved camping, canoeing, walking in the woods, and growing flowers. She loved traveling, having been all over the world. Jane taught for two years in Japan, and lived in New Zealand on five different occasions. Surviving: Spouse: William A. Parsons Sugar Run, PA Sons and daughters-in-law: David P. (Linda) Parsons Christiana, PA Joseph B (Colette) Parsons Short Hills, NJ Daughters: Elizabeth Parsons El Paso, TX Ruth Parsons Sugar Run, PA Nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Joseph and Peter Reynolds. A Memorial Service will be held on at the Wyalusing Presbyterian Church, Church St., Wyalusing, PA, on Saturday June 13, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. with the Rev. John Dabback presiding. Services are under the direction of P.
