DEAN HOMER FUNERAL HOME 206 WATER STREET PO BOX 1 DUSHORE, PA 18614 TEL 570 928-8163 FAX 570 928-8116 Email pdh@epix.net OBITUARY Robert Leroy Ayres, age 64, of Leroy, PA passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 11, 2008 at his home with his loving family at his side, following a lengthy battle with multiple myeloma. Bob was born on May 1, 1944 in East Smithfield, PA a son of the late Herman Clinton and Hazele Garnant Ayres. He graduated from the St. Augustine High School a member of the class of 1962. He married the former Bonnie L. Elchak of Lopez, PA in Dushore on December 12, 1969. They moved to Florida where Bob began working in the Ag business as a diesel mechanic. He worked his way up to become the Farm Manager of Sunshine Biscuit Farms, a division of Frito-Lay, St. Augustine, FL. He later became the service manager for the Florida Truck and Tractor Co. of Palatka, FL. In 1972, Bob started his own business, Bob’s Manufacturing and Repair, in Elkton, FL and operated it until his health forced him to retire in 2002. At this time he and Bonnie retired to Pennsylvania and built a home in Leroy Township. Bob attended the East Canton United Methodist Church. He was a loving spouse and father and enjoyed spending as much time as he could with his children. He also loved the outdoors and especially hunting and fishing. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at the East Canton United Methodist Church with the Rev. Laura King, his pastor, officiating. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday, May 13th from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. The family will provide the flowers and memorials are directed to the East Canton U.M.
