Blasi, age 79, well known Mildred resident, passed away on Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at the Memorial Hospital, Towanda, PA. Helen was born in Mildred, PA on June 8, 1928 a daughter of the late Edward & Anna Kulsicavage Yavorski Sr. She graduated from the Cherry Township High School a member of the class of 1946. She married Reno N. (Turk) Blasi of Mildred, PA on November 20, 1948. He predeceased her on December 9, 1982. She was a lifelong resident of Mildred, PA. She worked for Charnitski’s Store for many and later worked in the office at the Endicott Johnson Shoe Factory in Mildred, from which she retired when it closed after more than 20 years of service. Helen was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church, Mildred, PA. She was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing and crocheting. She was also a Charter Member of the Ladies Auxiliary of McDermott Post 452 American Legion in Mildred, PA and a member of the White Ash Land Association. Helen was also elected as a Cherry Township Auditor, a position that she has held for past 6 years. Surviving: Two sons: Michael C. Blasi Easton, PA Raymond J. Blasi North Huntingdon, PA Brother: Edward (Katharine) Yavorski Jr. Dunellen, NJ Sisters: Joan (Clifford) Sailor Johnson City, NY Marion (Frank) Hofford Lehighton, PA Diane (Blaine) Cooper Turbotville, PA Donna McHugh Muncy, PA Brothers-in-law: Louis (Lorraine) Blasi Mildred, PA Alex (Patricia) Blasi Mildred, PA 3 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held from the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA on Monday, July 2, 2007 at 9:30 A.M. and will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Mildred, PA with the Rev. Bert S. Kozen, her pastor, presiding. Interment will be in the adjoining parish cemetery. Friend may call at the funeral home on Sunday, July 1, 2007 from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M. and from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M.
