OBITUARY
Glenn L. Plotts, age 88, well known and respected Dushore businessman, passed away on Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at the Pottstown Memorial Hospital, Pottstown, PA.
Glenn was born April 14, 1919 in Forksville, PA, a son of the late Foster Loys Plotts and Anna Vogt Plotts. He graduated from the Estella High School, a member of the class of 1936. Following high school Glenn worked for Raleigh Beinlich as a school bus driver and milk hauler until he enlisted in the Army. He was inducted on March 27, 1943 and served in WWII in the battles of North France, Ardennes, Rhineland and central Europe, where he received a purple heart. He was discharged on December 19, 1945.
After returning home he worked at the Rex Rosbach garage in Forksville and later worked for Jack Lentz at Dushore Motors and Equipment Company. He married the former Elizabeth Irene Mosier of Dushore on October 9, 1948. In 1950 he purchased the Dushore Motors business and in 1954 he purchased the Ralph Ambs garage on South German Street, where he operated Plott’s Garage until his retirement in 1981.
Glenn was a member of Redeemer Church, Dushore, PA and was a life member of the Dushore Fire Company. He was also a member and past longtime director of the White Ash Land Association and a member of Loyalsock Post #996 American Legion, Dushore, PA and Evergreen Lodge #163 F. &A.M. He was a former member of the Scottish Rite in Towanda, Williamsport Consistory, Williamsport Shrine Club and the Irem Temple Shrine.
Surviving, his spouse of 58 years, Irene, two daughters; Betty L. Winco, Warwick, PA and Mary K. Lohman, Phoenixville, PA; a granddaughter, Amanda Egan, Bridgeport, PA; two brothers: Sidney B. (Phyllis) Plotts, Gunnison, CO and Richard N. (Jean Anne) Plotts, Woolrich, PA and two nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, July 3, at 11:00 A.M. at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA with Pastor Darcy Miller, officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery.
Friends may call on Monday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M.
The family will provide the flowers and request donations to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Eastern PA Chapter, 2 International Plaza, Philadelphia, PA 19113.
Graveside military services will be accorded by members of Loyalsock Post #996 American Legion, Dushore, PA. Members are asked to assemble and pass in review on Monday evening at 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
A Masonic Funeral Service will be conducted by members of Evergreen Lodge #163 F. & A.M. at 7:30 P.M. Monday evening.
