Catherine was born May 19, 1928 in Cherry Township a daughter of the late Edward & Mary O’Neil Gainer. She graduated from the Turnpike High School a member of the class of 1946. She married Patrick P. Ryan of Dushore on November 21, 1953. Catherine was a homemaker and farmer with her husband Pat on the family farm outside of Dushore. She was a loving spouse and mother of six children. She also worked at the former Harrington Creamery of Dushore, Endicott-Johnson Shoe Mfg in Mildred and the Sullcraft Mfg. Co. of Dushore. She was a member of St. Basil’s Catholic Church and a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. Her deep faith sustained her throughout her life. Surviving: Spouse: Patrick at home Four Sons: P. Ryan Catasauqua, PA Sister and brother-in-law: Rita & William Stoddard Sugar Run, PA Sister-in-law: Patricia Gainer Levittown, PA Six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, she was predeceased by two brother, Leo Gainer, James Gainer and a sister Mary Ellen Fourney. Funeral Services will be held at 9:30 A.M. on Saturday, August 19th from the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA and followed by as Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at St. Basil’s Church, Dushore, PA with the Rev. Bert S. Kozen, her pastor, presiding. Interment will be in the adjoining parish cemetery. Friends may call on Friday, Aug. 18 from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. and from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. Members of St. Basil-St. Francis Altar and Rosary Society will recite the Rosary at 3:00 P.M. Friday afternoon at the funeral home. There will be a Vigil Service at 6:45 Friday evening at the funeral home.
