Allen, age 90, of Dushore, PA passed away on Thursday, November 25, 2010 at the Memorial Hospital in towanda, PA. Alma was born in Oxford Valley, PA on June 12, 1920 a daughter of the late Walter and Elizabeth Neil Lord. Alma married George F. Allen of Oxford Valley and the resided in levittown until George retired, moving to Dushore in 1981. George predeceased her on May 26, 1986. Alma was a member of Zion Chapel, Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Dushore, PA. She was very active in the community volunteering at the Sullivan County Library, the Sullivan County Loan Closet and was a Republican poll watcher for many years in Dushore Borough. Surviving: Sons: George (Cookie) Allen levittown, PA Robert (Diane) Allen elliottsburg, PA Daughter: Jane Coan Waxhaw, NC Sister: Dr. Lillian Lord Gindhart Rileyville, Virginia 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A Graveside Service will be held at the Colley Cemetery at the convenience of the family. The family will provide the flowers and request that Memorial Contributions be sent to the Sullivan County Public Library, PO Box 309, Dushore, PA 18614.
