Jean was born on June 30, 1945 in Camp Lejeune, NC at the Naval Hospital, a daughter of Chester F. and Hillary Kinnear Elliot Jr. She graduated from Woodbridge High School in 1963, from there she attended Mansfield State College, from which she graduated in 1967. Jeanne started teaching in Wyalusing in September of 1967, she was instrumental in starting the Washington DC trip, she helped organize the trip and fundraisers for the trip for 30 years. Jeanne was also very active in the WAEA, serving as president for 10+ years, she presented in-services on computers when technology was being introduced to the schools, she served on many committees for the school, especially the curriculum development committee. She was a math advisor for the 6th grade class, which won multiple state awards for their high scores; Jeanne was a financial contributor to those students who would normally be able to attend field trips. She was a much-loved sixth grade school teacher in the Wyalusing Area School District. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 1 Grovedale Lane, Wyalusing, PA, with the Rev. Barry Ballard presiding. Friends may call on Thursday at the funeral home from noon until the time of the service.
