Jean was born on February 9, 1950, a son of the late James and Alice Arey Armitage. Jean graduated from the Wyalusing Valley High School, a member of the class of 1968. He worked at Sylvania and also on Felter’s farm for a number of years. He married the former Penelope Cobb; they were married for 34 years, and were always together. She predeceased him in May of 2010. Jean also liked spending time with family and friends, he loved children. He enjoyed the outdoors, and he loved animals. He also enjoyed spending time in his garden. Surviving: Brothers and sisters-in-law: John and Ellen Armitage Laceyville, PA Melton and Gail Armitage Laceyville, PA Joe Armitage Spring Lake, PA Step-children: Shawn and Jill Johnson Monroeton, PA Kim Connor Wyalusing, PA Betty Ann Hochingavong Charlotte, NC Special friend, like a daughter: Julie Richter Lovelton, PA Numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 2, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 1 Grovedale Lane, Wyalusing, PA with the Rev. Joseph R. Hornick presiding. Interment will be in Camptown Cemetery, Camptown, PA. Friends may call at the P Dean Homer Funeral Home on Thursday morning from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
