Pauline was born December 16, 1920 in Colley Township, Sullivan County a daughter of the late Thomas & Mary Stetz Stavisky. She attended local schools and married Metro Hubiak of Lopez, PA on February 23, 1946 soon after he was discharged from the US Army after WWII. He predeceased her on June 6, 1996 after 50 year of marriage. She and Metro moved to Baltimore to obtain work and resided there until they retired to Lopez, in 1979. She and Metro were very active members of St. Vladimir's Orthodox Church in Lopez, PA. Pauline helped make pierogies, cleaned the church and hall and volunteered for many other church and civic activities. She was also a longtime choir member and sang the responses at many church services, herself. She was predeceased by brothers: John Stavisky, Alex Stavisky and Michael Stavisky; sisters: Anna Hoch, Olga Serescko, Irene Mager, Tillie Oresko and Mary Serescko. Burial Service will be held on Monday, August 30, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Vladimir's Church, Lopez, PA with Hieromonk Michael Thier, her pastor, officiating. Interment will be in St. Vladimir's Cemetery, Lopez, PA. Friends may call on Sunday, August 29, 2010 from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA.
