OBITUARY

Betty Carr, age 91, of West Hazleton, PA passed away peacefully on Monday, August 23, 2010 at the Hazelton General Hospital after a very brief illness.
Betty was born September 6, 1918 in Harwood, PA a daughter of the late Alex & Elizabeth Barron Trovitch. She married Gene F. Carr of Hazleton, in 1934, Gene predeceased her on August 14, 1987. Betty was a homemaker and was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed taking care of her family and her home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 544 N. Broad Street., West Hazleton, PA with the Rev. Eugene R. Carr as principal celebrant with Msgr. Willis W. West and Rev. E. Francis Kelly as concelebrants. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Drums, PA.
Friends may call at the church on Saturday morning from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the Mass.
The family will provide the flowers and direct that memorial contributions be directed to Little Sisters of the Poor, 2500 Adams Ave., Scranton, PA 18509.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA 18614.
