Betty Jane is a daughter of Melinda E. Adams Fitzgerald & the late Edward J. Fitzgerald. She graduated from the Sullivan County High School a member of the class of 1969. When Betty was 40, she went to college and received an associate degree in Occupation Therapy from Penn Tech, a division of Penn State in Williamsport, PA. She worked for various therapy centers and has been employed by the Emanuel Center in Danville, PA. She married Alan Houck of Eagles Mere on February 14, 1989. Betty Jane was a member of. St. Basil's Church, Dushore, PA She really enjoyed biking, camping and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Surviving: Spouse: Alan M. Houck at home Son: Leo. F. Fitzgerald Dushore, PA Four grandchildren: Kristin & Gabriel Newvine and Casey & Jacob Blair Brothers and sisters-in-law: Edward J. & Cindy Fitzgerald Mildred, PA David & Ann Fitzgerald Dushore, PA Leonard Fitzgerald Dushore, PA A sister and brother-in-law: Rosanna & Robert Broschart Dushore, PA Sister-in-law: Elaine Barrett Mildred, PA Several aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by brother: Dale C. Fitzgerald on July 17, 2007. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2010 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Basil's Church, Dushore, PA with the Rev. Joseph R. Hornick, her pastor, presiding. Interment will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hughesville, PA at the convenience of the family. Friends may call on Friday, Sept. 17, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Homer Funeral Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA.
