OBITUARY
Charles C. (Duke) Snyder, age 76, of Overton, PA passed away on Monday, September 25, 2006 at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre.
Duke was born in Trucksville, PA on March 2, 1930 son of the late Charles and Mildred Harrison Snyder. He worked as a truck driver for a manufacturing company for many years and retired to Towanda and to Overton in 1988. In his love of the outdoors, he enjoyed hunting and fishing and later, as he got older, simply feeding the wild game in the winter. He was locally known as the “Barrel Man” as in retirement he started his own refuse hauling service for Sullivan, Bradford and Wyoming Counties.
Surviving, his loving companion of 18 years, Nancy Barton; two sons; Robert Snyder of Lake Worth, FL and Larry Snyder of Ocala, FL; three daughters; Jackie Turnquist of Franklin, NC, Suzie Gove of Jupiter, FL and Angelique Snyder of Towanda, PA; his considered step-sons, Scott (Deidre) Burgess of Wooster, OH and Paul (Janet) Burgess of Waverly, NY; a sister Irene Travers of Harvey’s Lake, PA; a step-brother, James Snyder; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Mary.
A Funeral and Committal Service will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA with Pastor Darcy Miller, officiating. Interment will be in Warburton Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
