Julia was born in Harford Township, PA on March 24, 1912 a daughter of the late Fred & Etta Blowers Hayes. She graduated from the Montrose High School, a member of the class of 1931. She married Leland Coy of Forest Lake, in 1932, he predeceased her in 1963. In 1969 she married Dan Franklin and moved to Sugar Run. Dan predeceased her in 1995. The past few years she lived with her daughters. Julia was a member of the Sugar Run Presbyterian Church and the Sugar Run Women’s Circle. She was an accomplished quilt maker and loved baking for friends and neighbors and spending time with her family. Surviving: Three sons and daughters-in-law: Howard & Barbara Coy Pennsburg, PA Ronald & Linda Coy Princeton, TX Leland (Jake) & Marge Coy St. Croix, US Virgin Is Two daughters and sons-in-law: Patricia & Richard Smith Vestal, NY Shelba & Julius Wilbur Rome, PA Step-children and spouses: Edward & Ruth Franklin Sugar Run, PA Willard & Louella Franklin Sugar Run, PA Robert Franklin Hughesville, PA Lloyd & Dawn Franklin Howell, MI Aloha Mosier Northford, CT 23 grand children, 47 great grandchildren and 14 great-great grand children and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Llewellyn Hayes and Lester Hayes and a step-son, Albert Franklin. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, Oct. 6th at 1:00 P.M. at the Rome Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Karen Ballard, her pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the Birchardville Cemetery, Forest Lake Township, Susquehanna County, PA. Friends may call from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. on Thursday, Oct. 5th at the P.
