OBITUARY
Mrs. Monica C. Diehl, age 91, of Laporte, PA passed away peacefully on Friday, October 27, 2006 at the Highlands in Laporte, PA.
Monica was born September 13, 1915 in Buffalo, NY, a daughter of the late John O’Connel & Eva Laird Cuddy. She graduated from the Buffalo Technical High School and was a member of the Alpha Gamma Sorority. She married Francis J. Diehl Jr. of Buffalo on August 22, 1939. He predeceased her on January 25, 1975.
After her marriage, she and Frank lived in Ridgewood, NJ. In 1948 Frank and his brother-in-law, Bill Case moved to New Albany, PA where they formed the New Albany Machine and Tool Company, which later became Rheem Textile and now Hoffman-New Yorker. After the sale of the company in 1973 they moved to Towanda. After Frank’s death, Monica lived in Wyalusing and Athens before moving to the Highlands in 2000.
Monica was a member of St. Basil’s Catholic Church in Dushore, PA.

Twelve grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 30, 2006 at 9:30 A.M. from the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA and will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Basil’s Church at 10:00 A.M. with the Rev. Bert S. Kozen, her pastor, presiding. Interment will be in St. Basil’s Cemetery.
Friends may call on Monday morning from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
The family will provide the flowers and request that memorials be made to St. Basil’s Cemetery, PO Box 1, Dushore, PA 18614.
