Audrey was born in Dushore, PA a daughter of the late Lawrence & Audra Steiner Cott. She graduated from the Estella High School, a member of the class of 1947. She married Leslie Earl Gilbert of Forksville on June 21, 1947. She worked as a seamstress for Dushore Lingerie, while raising her children and later operated for many years , Gilbert's Dom Care Home, in Estella, which was one of the first assisted living facilities in Sullivan County. Her spouse Leslie predeceased her in 1986. She later moved to Emporium and married Jack E. Jones, who predeceased her in 2009. Audrey was a loving spouse, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a very caring person and took in hunters during the season and later in life helped to take care of folks needing assistance in their homes. She was a member of St. Mark's Catholic Church, in Emporium. Surviving: Three sons: Lawrence Earl (Marilyn) Gilbert Canton, PA Carl Joe (Brenda) Gilbert Berwick, PA Chris Harris (Mandy) Gilbert Canton, PA Three daughters: Joann Leslie (Earl) Chase Dushore, PA Amy Beth (Richard) Sweigart Dushore, PA Carrie Lynn (Theodore James) Smith Bloomsburg, PA Brother: Carl (Grace) Cott Forksville, PA Sister: Gail (Clark) Walker New Era, PA Sister-in-law: Judy Cott Millville, PA Several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Twelve grandchildren: James Leslie Gilbert, Kimberly Ann Gilbert, Brian Chase, Brent Chase, Corey Lee Gilbert, Olivia Fry, Monica Carey, Stephanie Johnson, Melissa Mae Sweigart, Richard Leslie Sweigart, Joshua James Smith and Julia Lynn Smith: fourteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Larry Cott. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 4, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA with the Rev. Joseph R. Hornick, pastor of St. Basil's Church, presiding. Interment will be in the Forksville Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
