Joe was born in Towanda on February 27, 1949 a son of the late James Joseph Lane Jr. and June Huddleson Lane. He graduated from the Sullivan County High School a member of the class of 1968. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War from 1969 until 1973. Returning from the service he began working for J&L Wirerope in Muncy, PA and later for Herman Rynveld's Son Corp. in New Albany and for the past twenty-two years for Miller's Hardware in Dushore, PA. Joe was a member of St. Basil's Church, Dushore, PA and a member of McDermott Post #452 American Legion, Mildred, PA. He enjoyed woodworking and building furniture and cabinets. Russell Lane Dushore, PA John Lane Dushore, PA Four sisters: Barbara (Thomas) Patt Warrensville, PA Janice Wilcox Dushore, PA Katrina (Roger) Hope Dushore, PA Lisa (Bob) Frank Dushore, PA Several aunts and uncles, numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother, David Lane. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at 10:30 A.M. at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA with the Rev. Joseph R. Hornick, his pastor, presiding. Family and friends may call on Wednesday morning from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service. The family will provide the flowers and request that Memorial Contributions be sent to the Sullivan County Chapter Unit of American Cancer Society, 1948 E. Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701.
