Harris Welles, age 80, of Wyalusing, PA passed away on Tuesday, June 8, 2010, at the Wyalusing Personal Care Home, surrounded by her loving family. Jane was born on March 22, 1930 in Waverly, NY, a daughter of the late Duane and Frances Rowe Harris. She graduated from the Laceyville High School class of 1948, she then attended Elmira College. Jane married Lincoln Welles of Wyalusing, PA on May 22, 1949. They celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary this past May. Jane was a member of the Wyalusing Presbyterian Church, Wyalusing, PA. Jane most valued her time spent with her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was an avid golfer, a member of the Towanda Country Club, Towanda, PA, and Gulf Harbor Country Club, Fort Myers, FL. Jane loved music. She played and taught the piano for many years and accompanied many productions, including plays by Bill Keeler, and musical performances at the Gulf Harbor Country Club. Jane was a member of the Wyalusing Choraliers and the Wyalusing Musical Society. She was a past president of the Towanda Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She was a Girl Scout leader as well as a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, June 13, 2010 at 3:00 P.M. at the Wyalusing Presbyterian Church, Wyalusing, PA, with the Rev. Dr. Steve Starzer, her former pastor, and Rev. Barry Ballard officiating. Interment will be in the Wyalusing Cemetery. Friends may call at the P.
