OBITUARY
Mary Kay “Mamie” Confar, 63, of Dushore, PA passed away on Friday, July 28, 2006 at the Williamsport Hospital.
Mamie was born November 8, 1942 a daughter of Richard L. & Ann Driscoll Holcombe of Dushore. She graduated from St. Basil’s High School a member of the class of 1960. She graduated from Mansfield University with a B.A. and M.S. in Art. Mamie taught elementary school art in the Troy and Sullivan County School Districts until her retirement in 2004. She was a superb teacher and was greatly admired by her students.
Mamie was a member of St. Basil’s Church in Dushore and a member of St. Basil’s & St. Francis Altar and Rosary Society. She was also a member of Alpha Zeta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society of women educators and an outstanding member of the Red Hat Society.
Mamie had a great sense of humor and enjoyed the company of her many friends and colleagues.
Surviving in addition to her parents, are a daughter, Eileen A. Metheny of King-of-Prussia, PA; a son, Benjamin Radencic of Williamsport; husband, John Patrick Confar of Seattle, WA; brother and sister-in-law, Richard J. & Paula Holcombe of Laporte, PA; sister and brother-in-law, Marjorie A. & Thomas Gorsky of Penn Yan, NY; five granddaughters; two great grand children; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a husband, George A. Radencic Jr., on June 20, 1996.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2006 at 9:30 A.M. from the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at St. Basil’s Church, Dushore, PA. Interment will be in the adjoining parish cemetery.
Friends may call on Friday, Aug. 4, 2006 at the funeral home from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. and from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. Members of the Altar and Rosary Society will recite the Rosary at 3:00 P.M. on Friday at the funeral home.
