Joan was born September 23, 1924 in Fort Wayne, IN a daughter of the late Charles H. & Myrtle Morgan Dutterer. She graduated from the Southside High School in Fort Wayne, a member of the class of 1942. She worked for a brief time as a clerk for the Home Telephone Company in Fort Wayne until her marriage to David R. Lowe of Fort Wayne. Joan and Dave were married on June 1, 1946 and they would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this June. They resided in Fort Wayne and purchased a property in Eagles Mere, PA in 1976, where they retired in 1986. In recent years, they wintered in Vero Beach, FL. Joan was a loving spouse, mother and grandmother. She was an avid golfer and gardener. She was a member of the Eagles Mere Country Club where she scored an ace on hole #4 and was previously a past Ladies’ Club Champion at the North Hills Country Club in Oreland, PA. Joan was an Episcopalian and a Memorial Service will be held at St. John’s-in-the-Wilderness Episcopal Church in Eagles Mere, PA in the summer.
