OBITUARY
Ann Viola Holcombe, age 91, of Dushore, PA passed away on Thursday, June 3, 2010 at the Highlands Care Center in Laporte, PA.
Ann was born in Towanda, PA on July 16, 1918 the youngest and last surviving of 10 children born to James & Clara Bird Driscoll. She graduated from St. Agnes High School a member of the class of 1935. She married Richard L. Holcombe of Dushore, PA on June 15, 1937. They would have celebrated their 73nd Wedding Anniversary next week.
Ann was a homemaker and a loving spouse, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was very active in her community with her church and civic associations. She was the first Den Mother of the Cub Scouts, Den1, Pack 48 and very instrumental in organizing bloodmobiles for many years.
Ann was a very active member of St. Basil's Church, Dushore, PA where was a lifelong member of the Altar and Rosary Society and a very long and active member of the church choir. She also taught CCD for over 20 years preparing the youth for the Sacraments of First Communion and Confirmation. She was also a member of Loyalsock American Legion Post 996 Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the Sullivan County Republican Women and the Laporte Women's Club.

Seven grandchildren, John, Michael & Thomas Gorsky; Eileen & Benjamin Radencic and Sara & Philip Holcombe; and nine great grandchildren and numerous niece and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter Mary Kathryn (Mamie) Radencic Confar on July 28, 2006 and a son-in-law; George A. Radencic Jr. on June 20, 1996.
A Transfer Service will be held on Monday, June 7, 2010 at 11:30 A.M. from the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 Noon at St. Basil’s Church, Dushore, PA with her pastor, Rev. Joseph R. Hornick, presiding. Interment will be in the adjoining parish cemetery.
Friends may call on Monday morning June 7th at the funeral home from 9:00 to 11:30 A.M.
