Bond Jr., age 85, of Wyalusing, PA passed away on Friday July 21, 2006 at the Tyler Memorial Hospital, Tunkhannock, PA. Howard was born in Fallsington, PA on October 10, 1920, a son of the late Howard and Sarah Stradling Bond Sr. Howard served in the US Army during WWII. He married the former Doris Bellmont of Woodside, PA on June 12, 1948. They resided in Buck’s County where Howard was employed as steel hauler. They retired to Beaver Meadows in 1982. After retiring Howard worked for the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, Wyalusing for the past 20 years. Howard was a member of the Wyalusing Presbyterian Church. He was active in the Lackawanna Presbytery, having served on several committees, as well as being a delegate for the Wyalusing Presbyterian Church. He was also a charter member of Boy Scout Troop 96. Howard was a member of the Franklin Lodge No 263 F.&A.M., having served as past Master of both Franklin Lodge, Laceyville and Newtown Lodge, Bucks Co., and was also the past associate Worthy Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 70, of Meshoppen, a lifetime member of the Allentown Consistory, and also a member of the Wyalusing American Legion Post 534. He was predeceased by two brothers, Frank Bond and Lewis Bond, and 5 sisters; Infant sister Irene Bond, Mary Bond, Mabel Fesmire, Dorothy Rumpf, and Ruth Cooper. Funeral services will be held at the Wyalusing Presbyterian Church on Monday, July 24 at 11:00 A.M. with the Rev. Barry R. Ballard, his pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the Beaver Meadows Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 P.M. on Sunday, July 23, 2006 at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 1 Grovedale Lane, Wyalusing, PA. Graveside Military Services will be accorded by member of Wyalusing Post #534 American Legion, Wyalusing, PA. Meshoppen Chapter 70, Order of the Easter Star Services will be at 6:00 PM. Wyalusing American Legion Post #534 will pass in review at 7:00 PM Franklin Lodge No. 263 F. &A.M. will hold a funeral service at 8:00 P.M.
