Weakland, 71, of Cherry Township died peacefully, June 21, 2006 at home. He was born in Rahway, NJ on November 16, 1934, the youngest son of James H. and Edith Ebbs Weakland. A veteran of the Korean War, Thomas served in the US Navy on board the aircraft carrier, USS Shangri-La (CV 38). Surviving are his wife, Ruth Weakland, 4 sons David Weakland of Cherry Township; Danny Weakland of Levittown; Jerry Weakland of Brantley, AL; and John McFarlane of Albany, OR: and a daughter, Julie Ann Faye (Weakland) Thompson of Independence, OR; 2 brothers, James Weakland of Park Hill; Earl Weakland of Cherry Township; one sister, Darleen Flynn of Spiceland, IN; 13 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. At his request, there will be no funeral service and his ashes will spread on the Delaware River. Arrangement are the direction of the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA.
