OBITUARY
Mrs. Alice Mary Mucha Kaier, age 78, of Churchill Street, Dushore, PA passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2006 at the Memorial Hospital, Towanda, PA.
Alice was born in Bernice, PA on August 27, 1927 a daughter of the late Stanley J. & Anna Mary Pastula Mucha. She graduated from the Cherry Township High School a member of the class of 1946. She married Gerard R. Kaier of Dushore on June 5, 1948. They celebrated their 57 wedding anniversary last June.
Alice began a long working career for Remington Rand Corp Defense Plant. in Elmira, NY during WWII and then returned home to work at the former Weldon Mfg. Co. of Lopez, PA and later for the former Sullcraft Mfg. Co and former Dushore Lingerie of Dushore, PA. After the plants closed, Alice was employed at the Highlands Nursing Home in Laporte, and then operated her own Ice Cream Stand in Dushore for several years.
Alice was a renowned and accomplished baker and for the last 20 years made wedding, birthday and specialty cakes for the entire community.
Alice was an active member of St. Basil’s Catholic Church in Dushore, PA and a member of the Altar and Rosary Society.

Numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sons: Michael F. Kaier on August 3, 1976 and Alan G. Kaier on May 25, 1992 and a sister, Helen Piasecki and two brothers, Edward and William Mucha.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. from the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA and will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 A.M. at St. Basil’s Church, Dushore, PA with the Rev. Bert S. Kozen, her pastor, presiding. Interment will be in St. Basil’s Cemetery, Dushore, PA.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. and from 9:00 A.M. on Saturday morning until the time of the service.
Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 6:30 P.M. on Friday evening at the funeral home by members of St. Basil’s – St. Francis Altar and Rosary Society.
