Pete was born in Lopez on July 8, 1921 son of the late John & Tanga Dzama Kachmarsky. He served in the US Army in the Pacific during WWII, where he served as an anti-aircraft artillery gun crewman in the Northern Solomon’s and Southern Philippines. He married the former Helen Sysock of Lopez, PA on July 14, 1951. Helen predeceased him on August 16, 2003. Pete worked for Worthington Pump Co. of East Orange NJ from which he retired after 30 years of service. He and Helen moved to Dushore in May of 1984. Pete was a member of St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Church, in Lopez, PA. Peter was a member of the White Ash Land Association and McDermott Post #452 American Legion, Mildred, PA. Surviving: Son: Craig P. Kachmarsky Dushore, PA Daughter and son-in-law: Debra & John Alpaugh Freehold, NJ Sisters: Julia Bettin Bloomfield, NJ Eva Smith Seattle, WA Brothers-in-law: Andrew & Marge Sysock Clark, NJ Stephen Sysock Mildred, PA John Serafini Lopez, PA Sisters-in-law: Beatrice Kachmarsky Lakewood, CO Anita Sysock Mildred, PA Emily Sysock Rahway, NJ Marie Sysock, Glendale, CA Grandchildren: David & Janine Alpaugh Numerous nieces and nephews. Pete was predeceased by six brothers: John Seeman, Paul Kachmarsky, William Kachmarsky, Andrew Kachmarsky, Nicholas Kachmarsky and Michael Kachmarsky; three sisters: Helen Kachmarsky, Ann Vickerman and Mary Kachmarsky. Burial Service will be on Tuesday, Dec. 15th at 10:00 A.M. at St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Church, Lopez, PA with the Hieromonk Michael Thier, his pastor, officiating. Interment will be in St. Vladimir’s Cemetery, Lopez, PA. Friends may call at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA on Monday, Dec. 14th from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Parastas Service will be at 3:30 P.M on Monday at the funeral home. Memorials are directed to St. Vladimir’s Church, PO Box 211, Lopez, PA 18628. Graveside Military Services will be accorded by member of McDermott Post #452 American Legion, Mildred, PA.
