DEAN HOMER FUNERAL HOME 206 WATER STREET PO BOX 1 DUSHORE, PA 18614 TEL 570 928-8163 FAX 570 928-8116 Email pdh@epix.net November 25, 2009 OBITUARY Mr. Frank Jerome Peworchik, age 95 formerly of Sullivan Terrace, Dushore, PA passed away on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA. Frank was born in Lopez, PA on December 4, 1913 son of the late Andrew & Katherine Cieklinski Peworchik. Frank attended local schools and moved to Binghamton, NY. He began working for the Binghamton Sausage Company at age 19 in 1932 and worked there until entering the US Marine Corps in 1943. He served during WWII in the Asiatic Pacific campaign and was awarded an Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal with a Bronze Star. He married the former Mary Malanchuk of Binghamton, NY and she predeceased him April 29, of 1999. After the war Frank returned to the triple cities and formed the Tri-City Provision Meats of Johnson City. He manufactured meats (hot dogs, Kielbasa, pickle and pimento loaf, etc.), had a retail store in front with counter service for customers to make purchases. He also expanded with wholesale sales to chain supermarkets, such as Giant Foods and Harris Foods. After retiring Frank lived in Aurora, NY and moved in 1997 to Sullivan Terrace Dushore, PA. He has been a patient of the Highlands Care Center since 2005. Frank was a member of St. Basil’s Catholic Church, in Dushore, PA. Surviving: Daughters: Marcia San Jose, CA Sharon A. (Don) Habermehl Beverly Hills, FL Grandson: Kevin (Marilyn) MacBlane Joliet, IL Granddaughter: Kelly (Mike) Clingingsmith Algonquin, IL Two great-granddaughters and grandson: Courtney Paige MacBlane, Ashley Marie Clingingsmith and Mike Clingingsmith Jr. Brother: Joseph (Helen) Peworchik Elmira, NY and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Sandra M. Peworchik, brothers: Michael Peworchik, Stephen Peworchik, Andrew Peworchik Jr. of Binghamton, NY and John Peworchik of Johnson City, NY and sisters: Elizabeth (Betty) Popso of Lopez, PA, Vicki Popso of Vestal Center and Connie Peworchik. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 3, 2009 at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home at 11:00 A.M. with the Rev. Joseph R. Hornick, his pastor, presiding. Interment will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Aurora, NY.
