She had been a guest at the Wyalusing Valley Personal Care Home, Wyalusing, for the past 4 ½ years. Jessie was born in Divide, Columbia County, the daughter of the late Harold J. and Edith G. (Kilgus) Peterman. She attended Muncy and Montoursville schools and graduated from Montoursville High School in 1951. She worked at the Scranton-Spring Brook Gas Co. in Williamsport and in the cafeteria in the East Lycoming School District. She was also employed at the former Carey-McFall, Montoursville, Woolworth Department Store in the Lycoming Mall, and did housecleaning and personal care for the elderly. Jessie was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, Hughesville where she previously taught adult Sunday school. A former Girl Scout leader and 1st and 2nd grade Sunday school teacher at Trinity Lutheran Church, Hughesville, she was also a lifetime member of the Nelson Armes American Legion, Post #601 Ladies Auxiliary, Sonestown and a past member of the Hughesville Fire Co. Auxiliary. Surviving are her daughter and son in law, Kathryn and William Prichard, Sugar Run, daughter and fiancé, Janet Tilley and Donnie Miller, Hughesville, two grandchildren, Sterling Kepner, Muncy, and Katie Prichard, Sugar Run. She is also survived by her extended family, her loving caretakers at the Wyalusing Valley Personal Care Home. There will be no visitation. Burial and a memorial service will be at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 1 Grovedale Lane, Wyalusing, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be sent to the Wyalusing Valley Personal Care Home, PO Box 186, Wyalusing, Pa. in Jessie’s memory for the residents’ activity fund.
