Lillian Mattichak Bizup

December 24, 1931 — March 6, 2017

Lillian Mattichak Bizup, age 85, of Orangeville, PA passed away peacefully on Monday, March 06, 2017 at her home, with her loving family at her side.             Lillian was born December 24, 1931 in Lopez, PA one of twelve children of the late Nicholas & Rose Opishinski Mattichak.  She graduated from the Dushore High School a member of the class of 1949.                     She married Michael P. Bizup of Lopez, PA on September 1, 1951. They celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary, before his death on October 9, 2004.  They resided in South Plainfield, NJ where Mike worked for Lockheed Electronics, before retiring to Orangeville in 1988.              Lillian was a member of St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Church. She enjoyed helping the church fundraiser by making pierogies with her son Wayne, her daughter in-law Jean, and the church members.             Lillian, also known by her grandchildren as Grams, was always involved in their lives.  She was proud of her grandsons, Matthew and Christopher.  She was also thrilled to be a great-grandmother to Alex.  Lillian often travelled to New Jersey and Philadelphia, to visit with her children and their families. She adored watching them grow up and was a big part of their lives. Lillian was appreciative of the time she spent with her family, whether it was vacationing with them, or just having a meal she lovingly prepared; her family was always a priority.              Lillian will be remembered as a fun-loving, thoughtful, and reliable mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She will be greatly missed by those she leaves behind. She is survived by her son and daughter in-law, Wayne and Jean Bizup (Orangeville, PA) and her Daughter and son in-law, Beverly and Richard Hawkins (Philadelphia, PA), as well as, her sister and brother in-law, Gladys and Joseph Stavisky (Millville, PA).  She is also survived by her two grandsons, Matthew Bizup, his wife Lauren and their son, Alex (Colonia, NJ), and Christopher Bizup, his fiancé Danielle (Bedminster, NJ).  Lillian is also survived by her sister in-laws, Dolores Mattichak (Lopez, PA) and Johnnie Mattichak (Harrisonburg, VA), as well as many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by brothers: George Mattichak, Joseph Mattichak, William Mattichak, Steve Mattichak, Leo Mattichak, David Mattichak, and sisters:  Eva Halkovich, Theresa Smith, Helen Gulick, and Vera English.             Friends and relatives are invited to gather at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M. with a Parastas Service at 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home.             A Burial Service will be held on Thursday, March 9th, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Church, Lopez, PA. The Rev.
