Ronald E. Thomas, age 78, of Lincoln Falls, PA, passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2017, at the Williamsport Hospital, following a brief illness.             Ron was born August 22, 1938 in Williamsport, PA, one of ten children of the late Raymond and Mildred Everett Thomas.  He graduated from the Loyalsock Area High School a member of the class of 1958.  He married Ruth M. Richlin of Overton, on July 16, 1959.  They celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary last July.             Ron began working in logging for Ketchum & Bown Lumber Co. for several years.  He worked for Lycoming Motors “Textron” for 30 years retiring in 1998.  During slow times he worked back in the logging business which was his most enjoyable work.             Ron was a member of St. Basil’s Church, Dushore, PA and a member of the Monroeton Rod and Gun Club, Amvets Club, and the Bradford County Outboard Motor Club.             He enjoyed being with his grandchildren and attending all of their sporting events; wrestling, soccer, basketball and softball.  He and Ruth spent the last fifteen winters at their home in Lake Placid, FL.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cutting wood, gardening and everything outdoors and especially their family chicken barbecues.         Surviving: Spouse: Ruth,                                                                     at home   Two sons: Jerry (Julie) Thomas,                                           Lincoln Falls, PA Jody (Angela) Thomas,                             Lincoln Falls, PA   Four grandchildren: Lake, Luke, Chandra and Jalen Thomas   Sister: Nancy (Richard) Bird,                                         Kemp, TX   Brothers-in-law: James Richlin,                                                      Overton, PA Raymond (Shirley) Richlin,                                Dushore, PA Carl Richlin,                                                        Hendersonville, SC   Sister-in-law: Theresa Weaver,                                                  Dushore, PA   And numerous nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by: sisters:  Jean Thomas and Maxine Pruitt of Greensboro, SC; Barbara Wilson, of Forksville, PA; Dave Thomas, of Williamsport, PA; Jack Thomas, of Selinsgrove, PA; Robert Thomas and James Thomas of Forksville, PA; and Malcolm Thomas who was killed in action in WWII.             A Transferal Service will be held on Monday, March 6, 2017 at 10:30 A.M. from the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA 18614 and will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 A.M. in St. Basil's Church in Dushore, with the Very Reverend Glen E. McCreary V.E. of Church of The Resurrection in Muncy, presiding.           Friends may call at the Homer Funeral Home on Monday, March 6th, 2017 from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the Transferal.   Interment will follow in the St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Overton, PA.                       To send condolences or sign the e-guestbook, please go to www.homerfuneralhome.com.
