Renee Elizabeth Whitby

February 1, 1967 — January 10, 2017

Renee Elizabeth Whitby, also known as “Ney”, crossed the Rainbow Bridge tragically on Tuesday, January 10th, 2017.                  Renee was born February 1, 1967, the youngest of five children born to Phyllis and David Whitby.            Renee graduated from Clawson High School in Michigan in 1985. Upon graduation she attended Salem College in Salem, West Virginia on a volleyball scholarship. While in college she was a member of Delta Zeta Chi Sorority.            Renee’s lifelong dream was to work with animals, specifically dogs. As a young girl, she would bring every stray she could find home. In 2004 she attended Anthony Jerones School of Dog Training. Her dreams became a reality when she became a Master Dog Trainer and Behaviorist. Sit Happens was founded upon the completion of her training.            Renee touches so many lives through her dedication to her clients, two and four legged. Her clients stretched from the east to the west coast, north to south, and even a couple in Europe.            Renee was a kind, compassionate and loyal friend. No one was funnier than her (at least that’s what she said). Her smile lit up the room when she walked in. Renee was and still is beautiful in the way she thought of everyone’s needs before her own. She was beautiful for the sparkle in her eyes when she talked about something or someone she loved. She was beautiful for her ability to make other people smile even when she was sad. She was beautiful deep down in her soul. Heaven received a true angel and she will be dearly missed by everyone she touched.              Renee is survived by her mother, Phyllis Whitby, two sisters: Lynn (Paul) Scalzi and Machele (William) Kukuk, two brothers: David Whitby and Jeremy (Kim Ferguson) Whitby. She is also survived by nieces: Jenia Scalzi, Tamara Renee (Sherman) Williams, Heather (Jacob) Blaszyk, Kimmyra Neal, Kimme Neal, and Kaelyn Whitby and nephews, Anthony Scalzi, Chase Whitby, and Brian Garcia. Also surviving is her Domestic Partner, Rhonda Stanek and her little shopping buddy, Kylie Smith, and lifelong friends, Denise Greninger, Jodi Miller, Pamela Gaughan, and her DZX Sorority sisters and her Sit Happens family.            She was predeceased in death by her father, David Whitby.            Please continue prayers and thoughts for Renee’s mother, sisters, brothers, and friends.            There will be a Memorial Service for Renee, for her family at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, January 22, 2017 at the home of Greg & Mary Zeitler, 840 Rural Ave., Williamsport, PA. This will be the only time condolences can be expressed to Renee’s family from Michigan.             An additional Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 28th, 2017 starting with the Renee Whitby Memorial Dog Walk beginning at 11:00 A.M. at Brandon Park, Williamsport, PA.
