Ora Mae Becker

Mrs. Ora Mae Lawrence Becker, age 78, of Dushore Pa, was taken by the angels to meet the Lord on Monday, July 11, 2016, in the home where she was born, with her loving family at her side. Ora was born on June 6, 1938, in Dushore Pa, a daughter of the late Daniel “Dewey” & Jennie Vogel Minier. She Graduated from Wyalusing Valley High School a member of the class of 1958. Ora held numerous jobs around the Dushore area. On June 9, 1984 she married the love of her life, Raymond A. Becker Jr., in the Trinity Chapel, Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Mildred, PA. They enjoyed 29 years of marriage before his death on August 29, 2013. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Mildred, PA until its closing and was currently a member of the Zion Chapel, Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Dushore, PA. She was also a member of the McDermott Post #452 American Legion Ladies' Auxiliary, Mildred PA. Ora loved to sew and cook. She also enjoyed gardening and yardwork, but she was the happiest when she was surrounded by her family. She greatly loved her granddaughter and her two great granddaughters were the apples of her eyes. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend and will be missed by all who knew her. Minier, Republic, MO Two brothers-in-law: Robert (Donna) Becker, New Brunswick, NJ Donald (Evelyn) Becker, Edison, NJ Sister-in-law: Catherine Moore, Philadelphia, PA Ora is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Besides her parents and husband she was sadly predeceased by many of her siblings. Including brothers: Ellery Minier, Hank Minier, Howard Minier, Samuel “Sam” Minier, and Daniel Minier. And by sisters Leona “Donna” Guthrie, Mary Ellen Lenox, Jeanette Overpeck, and Irene Chick. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 18, 2016, at 2:00 P.M. at the Zion Chapel, Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Dushore, PA with her pastor, Rev. Phyllis A. Pelletier, officiating. Interment will follow in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Mildred, PA. Friends and family may call at the church on Monday, July 18, 2016 from 1:00 P.M. until the start of the service at 2:00 P.M. Members of the Mildred McDermott Post #452 American Legion Ladies' Auxiliary are asked to assemble and pass in review at 1:45 P.M. Monday at the church.
