Janet Clinton Mueller

May 14, 1925 — June 9, 2016

Janet Clinton Mueller passed away on June 9, 2016 at her home in Sullivan County PA. She was born in Barrington, NJ, on May 14, 1925, to John T. and Mary B. Clinton. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Margaret and five brothers, Douglas, John, Russell, Donald and Robert. Janet is survived by her loving husband Alfred. She is also survived by her six children, James (Sara), George (Laurel), Roger (Phyllis), Richard (Nancy), Kenneth (Rebecca) and Elizabeth (Curtis), along with fourteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Janet grew up on Five Boys Farm in Jamison, Bucks County PA. She was a graduate of Hatboro Horsham High School and Ambler School of Horticulture (now part of Temple University). She met her husband Al while working at Long’s Nursery in Southampton PA. They were married on June 8th, 1951 and just celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. They moved to Upper Makefield Township, PA shortly after their marriage and spent the next 25 years raising their family at Jericho Farm, outside Pineville, where they were the caretakers of a beautiful estate. They created a lifetime of memories for their children while living there. In 1978 they moved to Sullivan County PA to be near Al’s parents. Janet was involved with the Sullivan County Chamber of Commerce and the Flaming Foliage Festival for many years. Her number one passion was family. Many fond memories were created around the dinner table where “there was always room for one more”. Janet was an avid gardener, baker and excellent listener. She was an exceptionally patient and thoughtful person, but also a very strong woman. The family would like to thank her wonderful caregivers for their compassionate attention to her needs. A private family service was held on Sunday June 12th at Elkland Friends Meeting. A celebration of her life will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Eldredsville Volunteer Fire Company, 402 Route 4007, Forksville PA 18616. Arrangements are under the direction of the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA 18614 To send condolences or sign the e-guestbook, please go to www.homerfuneralhome.com.
