Hattie Sharts

Hattie Sharts, age 78, of Sugar Run, PA, passed away on Monday, May 02, 2016, with her loving family at her side. Hattie was born on September 24, 1937, in Meshoppen Twp., PA, a daughter of the late John H. and Lillian Harvey Baker. She met and married Roger Sharts of Sugar Run, on January 26, 1968. She helped Roger run the farm while taking care of the house and raising her children. Hattie was a member of the Sugar Run Presbyterian Church, as well as the Sugar Run Women’s Circle. Hattie enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved cooking and baking, she was well known for her sticky buns and crème puffs. Hattie loved animals. She enjoyed fishing trips to Seneca Lake with her family. Surviving: Husband: Roger, at home Sons and daughters-in-law: Donald (Cathy) Baker, Vestal, NY John Sharts, Sugar Run, PA David (Mindy) Sharts, Sugar Run, PA Roger Sharts, Sugar Run, PA Daughter and son-in-law: Ella and Don Bankes, Sugar Run, PA 18 Grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her son William Sharts, a brother James Baker, and a sister Pearl Rought. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2016, at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 1 Grovedale Lane, Wyalusing, PA, at 10:00AM with the Rev. Dr. Barry R. Ballard, officiating. Interment will follow in the Quicks Bend Cemetery, Sugar Run, PA. Family and friends may call at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, in Wyalusing, on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.
