Robert Julius Ottaviani

Dr. Robert J. Ottaviani, age 72, well known optometrist, of Camptown, PA, passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2016, at his home. Bob was born on November 2, 1943, a son of the late Julius and Helen Chrzanowski Ottaviani. He graduated from Turnpike High School, Mildred, PA, in the class of 1961. He then attended Mansfield College where he received a Bachelor of Science, and from there he graduated from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1967. He married the former Rosemarie O’Conner of Mildred on September 3, 1966. They recently celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary. Upon graduation he began his optometry practice in Wyalusing, from which he continued to work until his passing. He opened a branch location in Wysox in 1993. He was joined by his daughter Eileen in the practice in 2011. Bob was a devoted husband and father, and he loved spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. Bob was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. Bob was a member of the Wyalusing Lions Club and the Wyalusing Rainbow Club. He was an avid car collector, NASCAR fan, water skier, carpenter, and fisherman. He was enjoying semi-retirement, traveling to Florida. He will be missed by all who knew him. A Transferal Service will be held on Monday, April 18, 2016, at 9:30 A.M. from the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 1 Grovedale Lane, Wyalusing, PA, and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM, at St. Mary’s Church, Wyalusing, PA, with his pastor Rev. Joseph J. Manarchuk, presiding. Interment will be in the Wyalusing Cemetery, Wyalusing, PA. Friends may call at the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home on Sunday, April 17, 2016, from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M.
