Rose Marie Decker

Mrs. Rose Marie Decker, age 92, of Dushore, formerly of Lopez, PA passed away on Tuesday, February, 23, 2016. Rosie was born December 10, 1923, a daughter of the late Frank & Nancy Perici Manchise. She graduated from the Cherry Township High School a member of the class of 1941. She attended the IBM School in Washington, D.C. and worked as a key punch operator during WWII. She returned home and went to work at the former Weldon Mfg. Co. of Lopez. She married Frank Decker of Lopez, PA on April 30, 1949. He predeceased her on July 14, 1991. She later worked for the former Sullcraft Mfg. Co. of Dushore, and retired from the former Endicott Johnson Shoe Mfg. Co. of Mildred. Rosie was a former member of SS: Peter & Paul’s Byzantine Catholic Church in Lopez, and was currently a member of I.H.M. parish in Dushore, PA. Surviving, are several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by a son, Jerome Decker on May 15, 2005, and by sisters: Mary Gutosky, Thomasina Setzer, and Frances Kellerman. A Transferal Service will be held on Monday, February 29, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. from the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water St., Dushore, PA and will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Basil’s Church, Dushore, PA, at 10:30 A.M. with the Rev. Richard Rojas, her pastor, presiding. Interment will be in SS Peter & Paul’s Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, Lopez, PA. Members of the IHM Altar and Rosary Society will recite the rosary at 5:00 P.M. on Sunday afternoon at the Funeral Home.
