Ann (Nancy) H. Spaeth

Hunter. She graduated from Germantown High School in 1942, and from Duke University in 1946 with a Bachelor of Science in chemistry. She worked for 25 years at the former Smith, Kline & French Laboratories in Philadelphia as an information scientist in Research and Development.
Along with her family, Nancy spent summers in Eagles Mere from 1940 through the present, and worked as a teenaged life guard at the beach for several early summers.

She was also a former member of the Philadelphia Cricket Club and The Golf Club at Bluewater Bay. She loved golf and gardening, was an avid birder, traveled extensively around the world, and led a full life.
In 1976, Nancy married the late Dr. Philip G. Spaeth, a Philadelphia ophthalmologist. She and Phil built a summer home together in Eagles Mere, and later, a home in Niceville, Florida where they spent the winter months. Following her husband’s passing in 2006, Nancy moved to Port Orange, Florida to be closer to her family.
