Ann Louise Rinker, age 78, of Forksville, PA, left us Tuesday night, August 11, 2015. Louise was born January 31, 1937, near Muncy Valley, the daughter of the late Lynwood and Helen (Montague) Cott. Louise graduated from Loyalsock Joint High School in 1955 and on November 23, 1955, married James Rinker who survives.
Besides being a homemaker, Louise served 4 years as Chairperson of the ASCS State Committee under President Jimmy Carter. After which she worked for PA Farmers Union and helped organized the Pro Ag Association. She was a member of Forksville United Methodist Church, the Order of Eastern Star and was a previous member of the Sullivan County Chamber of Commerce and the Kiwanis Club.
For many years Louise had a shop in Eagles Mere where she sold jams, jellies and maple syrup. She enjoyed Williamsport Crosscutter baseball and Sullivan County High School basketball. Louise was proud to have been a personal friend of Congressman Paul Kanjorski and the late Congressman Dan Flood.
Surviving in addition to her husband are three children, Ellen Lazur (John) of Selinsgrove, Jack Dymond (Kathy) of Dushore and Tony Rinker (Sue) of Elverson, six grandchildren, Jason Purdy (John Boyer) of New York City, Alycia Lazur of Allison Park, Natalie Dymond (John Robertson), US Navy, Guam, Katelyn Kreamer (Shane) of Troxelville and AJ and Ava Rinker of Elverson; a great grandson, Aiden Michael Kreamer; a sister, Dorothy Norton (Malyn) of Shunk, two brother-laws, Carlton (Gloria) Rinker of Claysburg and Bobby (Viv) Rinker of Lebanon, OR and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Louise’s family would like to thank all the staff at Darway Elder Care for the many years of excellent and loving care they provided Louise.
A visitation and a well-attended Funeral Service was held on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at the Forksville United Methodist Church with her Pastor Linda Renninger, officiating. Interment was at Friends Cemetery, Elkland Township, PA.
Pallbearers were Jason Purdy, John Boyer, Shane Kreamer, Jim Ritter, Pat Ritter and John Lazur.
